camp and stuff

October 14, 2007

awesome, just found a pic from our bogan party at camp a few weeks back

bogan party, us

roar.

ohh yer and had turkish on friday with george. which sucked, as i ordered garlic yought on my iskender without even thinking. totally forgot. i managed to scrape most of it off. but still. stink!

im not sure if i have been feeling any better or worse energy wise. although i have noticed i need to eat more balanced meals. as if i eat a few plain/non diverse meals in a row i tend to feel a little not so good.

listening to: Motet pour les confesseurs à 4 voix avec simphonie

^^ quite awesome.

ahhh its not from milk.

October 11, 2007

ok. totally figured it out. well, not totally of course, but lots. nut butter is not from nut milk being butterifiyed! *gasp* its just totally blended nuts!! i kid you not. since they seem to have lots of oil in them, they become butterifiyed upon blending. how simple is that.

although the milking of nuts of possible from some style of nut crushing, all articles i came across pointed to a nut milking machine. which, aside from being a little weird, is a little more out of the way.

i might need to experiment with this whole idea.

**Update: WOAH!! read the milk recipe here at the bottom. imagine an eggnog type thing. this is going to be an exciting week.

**Update: attempt1

jon is awesome.

October 11, 2007

while going down the brooklyn hill this morning, me and george walked past Jon Toogood!!! it instantly made the morning more awesome. was just a casual look, didnt even say hi. he looked down as we past each other. quite exciting.

the other note, after getting to work had to email edmond so we could keep in touch when he goes back home. After checking this flickr i found he had all the photos he took from blueprint camp! it ended up being quite an amusing trail since as i found this photo of sam, it requited that i link him to it, for obvious reasons. Although i ended up reading his blog for a while. in which debs commented… and thus was directed to this awesome pic from camp which i totally forgot about.

i guess thats work time.

oh wait first. i must figure out how they get milk from almonds.. or any type of nuts really.

lols work

October 10, 2007

sometimes sitting at a desk is never enough. i get that feeling from sitting here at my desk.

the amount of times i open a job search site etc then close it again.

i must press on.

must stay here, work as i can between the gaps.

get the paprplane flying. ofcourse it is the best choice. it just seems distant at the moment.

the world: all mixed up

October 7, 2007

you see, i either want to work on cutting edge technology, as in ajax dev, or to learn truth. im so sick of this crap i do at work. the moving around of ones and zeros. the learning of some old software to do some boring job. oh sure it may very well need to be done, to keep the world revolving and all. yes totally. but TENNIS BALLS OH DANG its boring!!!

i wonder if everyone just did a job that they thought was awesome, if everything would get done? if there is someone for each of the jobs in the world that needs doing and its just that we’re all in the wrong order, doing someone else’s job.

…but then i remember how boring this is and doubt.

hebrew, lesson one.

george. ive begun. if you get 5-10 mins, go over this and see what you think.

3 day vegan and tea.

October 7, 2007

awesome! this is officially day three!! i have learnt a good many things this vegan journey. the biggest would be all the foods that are non vegan. which, just on a side note, is like most of them. each of my first days there was one thing that disqualified myself form the full success title. thus, on sunday before the vege market shopping, my flatmates took me to the organic shop. (the one by chafers newworld) and i managed to get some pasta and bread, aswell as some egg replacer. oh oh, we did get some soymilk on saturday after frisbee. choclate, vanilla and a couple of normals. umm, its so good. so good. (thanks again baliwhat)

oh man, had an awesome tea party on sunday after blueprint. oh on that note. blueprint was awesome last night too. met Anthony Walton, and i think it was his brother, who was speaking. Was about Grace. had a little clip from Les Mis, and a totally spoiler if you hadnt seen the movie 😛 was a really good night. had about 15 people at our tea party. ill get a flickr feed going some time. soon as i get a cable or card reader for my camera. hrm. speaking of that i might go do that now. ok maby not. right now im going to re-full my tea. (dong suh brown rice green)

goals for the week:

  • finish my study on pauls letter to the Romans.
  • card reader

oh man, just remembered that Debs wants to have aqua jogging tonite instead of running. im going to have to find my togs lol. that will be fun. since we’re in a storm as well it might be a more practicle idea.

choclate milk, gets you every time

October 3, 2007

gah! damn choclate milk. had a glass last night while watching naruto. got half way through it before i realised!! this is going to take me a while to get used to. i almost ate some chocolate too. each time though, im going to make an effort to find a new food that i could eat instead. I think im going to go for fruit juice instead. to make an effort to get those small concentrate boxes of juice that you used to drink when you were a kid. hrm… although that does sound quite average compared to a good tea. but then again juice, in balance, will be quite dietary beneficial. ahh, im sure it will work out some how. we really need to go shopping to get some cumin and other stuff. oh, speaking of that, were maby going to try to start cooking a different type of food more often. since normally we do a curry semi stew type deal with rice. when i think of that though, our meals sometimes deteriorate down to ‘just chuck it all in and cook it’ kind of approach. i think we need more structural diversity. something to consider anyway. oh by the way, sorry if anyone actually read any of this hoping for something interesting. extreme.

vegan – day 1ish

October 2, 2007

today officially begins my vegan diet. un-officially it started yesterday. but i had a milo by mistake without thinking about it. so im really starting today.

this is going to be a month long trial, to see how it is, how it affects my life, my energy and well, everything really. its kinda exciting. although i will still be wearing leather boots. and maby a touch of wool here and there. but im not particularly crasy so im not going for that whole dont kill stuff vibe. as in essence, stuff is there to be eaten.

today i had peanutbutter toast with a coffee for breakfast. for lunch i had a mee goreng from Aunt Menas. (which i must add, was exceptionally good, although, all there food is). Dinner? who knows. thats just crasy. im not even sure whats going to happen yet.

anyways, back on track, i will try and remember to post about how it goes, and how much energy i have. recently i have been taking hour or so naps just after lunch, im not really sure why i get so tired. but it will be interesting to see if my change in diet helps.  i normally sleep 7-8hrs and am quite fit. afaik i eat a balanced diet, i could be lacking iron or some such, im not really too sure how to work that out tho. i guess well see what happens in a few days tho, after all the diary has finished processing through my system.
